Jared McDonald is a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Political Psychology Research Group (PPRG) at Stanford University. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte after completing his Ph.D. in government and politics at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). Jared’s research lies at the intersection of electoral accountability and political psychology. Broadly, this research asks how Americans process political information, evaluate politicians, and hold them accountable in an era defined by entrenched partisan identities. He is involved in several projects testing theories related to the ways citizens develop perceptions of the character traits of political elites and how these perceptions inform political behavior.
