Heather Hendershot is a professor of film and media at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a former editor of Cinema Journal, the official publication of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, and she has held fellowships at NYU, Princeton, Stanford, and Harvard; Hendershot has also been a Guggenheim fellow. Her two most recent books are What’s Fair on the Air? Cold War Right-Wing Broadcasting and the Public Interest and Open to Debate: How William F. Buckley Put Liberal America on the Firing Line. Hendershot’s book on network TV coverage of the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention is forthcoming from the University of Chicago Press.
